How Meal Delivery Works
We deliver to anyone living with a current diagnosis of a life-threatening illness such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, end stage renal disease, congestive heart failure, multiple sclerosis, or another such illness AND documented difficulty preparing or accessing healthy meals due to illness treatment, side effects, ambulation difficulties, or another disability. We do not qualify people based on age or income.
The majority of our deliveries include five frozen entrees that are the caloric and nutritional equivalent of two meals each. We do our best to also include sides of soup, bread, and a small dessert or two. If you are experiencing significant weight loss, side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, or vomiting, or need additional food with which to take medications, you may also qualify for breakfast.
We serve a limited number of hot meal deliveries only in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver. You must live in this area and must be bedbound or not have a kitchen facility to qualify for hot meal deliveries.
If you live outside these boundaries, you can make alternate delivery arrangements such a picking up your meals at Project Angel Heart, or setting up delivery to a friend or family member who lives within the boundaries.
In Denver, we deliver every Friday and Saturday (your delivery day and time are determined by your address). Someone must be home to accept the deliveries.
In Colorado Springs, we deliver every Saturday between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Someone must be home to accept the deliveries.
If you qualify for hot meal delivery in Capitol Hill in Denver, we deliver Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
All of our meals are delivered by a dedicated team of volunteers. We deliver to nearly 850 people each week! To learn more about volunteering, click here.
