Project Angel Heart News
Wondering about the “radio silence” on this blog for the past couple of months? We’ve been so busy getting settled into our gorgeous new home that it’s been hard to keep up!
Now that we’re finally getting all of the kinks worked out (strange noises eliminated, new procedures in place, locating all the light switches and installing office signage), it’s time to celebrate our new 30,000-square-foot home and the opportunities for growth that it provides. We’ll be hosting a community open house for our friends, neighbors and supporters on April 10th.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out our new facility, please plan to attend. You’re invited to stop by anytime between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10th, to see our new digs, meet our staff and be part of the celebration. Tours and refreshments will be available.
We’re so grateful to everyone who made our move to 4950 Washington Street a reality. When you visit, you’ll find these generous supporters recognized in unique ways throughout the building. We’re also grateful to our friends at C & D Builders, sponsors of the Community Open House event, for making it possible for us to open our doors to our neighbors and friends.
Laurie McCaw, Manager of Business and Community Development for C&D Builders, explained that helping us celebrate our recent move was a fun and easy way to support Project Angel Heart’s mission. “C&D Builders is proud to sponsor Project Angel Heart’s Community Open House event,” said McCaw. “As a company, we value the great work of local nonprofits that help our community members in need. We share the excitement that this new facility will allow Project Angel Heart to provide nutritious, no-cost meals to a growing number of people coping with life-threatening illnesses in our community.”
We’re so glad to have the support of C & D Builders, a company that provides a number of valuable services such as facility maintenance, energy audits and renovation projects to nonprofit organizations in our community. To learn more about them, visit www.cd-builders.com.
As excited as we are about our new building and upcoming celebrations, our focus remains on our life-saving daily work. Our clients count on us, just as we count on our community for support. Day after day, you’ll find our amazing volunteers and kitchen staff stirring soup, chopping veggies and dishing up meals. Our administrative staff and volunteers will be busy answering phones, checking in on clients, connecting with compassionate community members who want to support our programs and preparing for upcoming events. On Saturdays, you’ll find more than 100 volunteer vehicles on the roads, delivering meals to grateful clients. The work goes on because our clients need us!
Thank you for all you do to support Project Angel Heart, whether you’re a volunteer, a donor, a corporate partner or an advocate. You are making a difference in the lives of people who rely on our “meals with love” to help them through another day.
